A real period piece and a delightful curiosity. The page of introductory text describes the paper cuts as being 'Temple Hill Cut-Outs' and all are black silhouette paper cuts, each depicting a Chinese legend. Accompanied by a printed explanation on a prtoective tissue guard. Produced, it seems, for charitable fundraising purposes by the Women's Bible School of the Presbyterian Mission in Chefoo, now Yantai in Shandong province. Hard to date but probably late 1920s/early 1930s. In mint condition. Rare.
