DESCRIPTION

Eleven volumes only of a twelve volume work. Lacking volume V.

This edition was limited to 1000 numbered copies, with this set being unnumbered and out of series.

'Histoire de ma Vie' was the memoir and autobiography of 18th-century Italian adventure Giacomo Casanova.

This edition is translated into English from the original French by Arthur Machen. Machen, however, used an inaccurate censored edition for his translation, and thus this bowdlerized verso remained the standard English edition for many years.

The memoir covers Casanova's life only until the year 1774, although he lived for another twenty years.
