The icon `Saint Nektarios of Aegina` . Handmade.

The icon base is a wooden board. Linen canvas is glued to the board and gesso is applied. The icon image

is applied to the gesso in a special way. On the reverse side, the board is fastened with wooden planks `dowels` to avoid warping and cracking of the wooden base of the icon.

Saint Nektarios of Aegina is widely known and revered in Greece. However, this saint is also known and revered by believers in Russia, since for our Lord there are no differences based on nationality - we are all his children.

People ask for healing from cancer, as well as other serious and incurable diseases, at the relics and icons depicting Nektarios of Aegina. He helps to get rid of obsession. The day of remembrance of the saint and miracle worker Nektarios is celebrated three times a year:

November 22 - the day of death;

June 22 - the day of the discovery of the relics;

September 3 - the transfer of the relics.
