Hutschenreuther was well known as one of the greatest porcelain figurine makers for about 200 years. Its most famous Lion mark is a symbol of high quality and artistic design. He received his education in art in Austria and originally worked as a painter. His passion for porcelain came much later. After World War I he spent about six years as a prisoner of war in Siberia and worked as a modeler in Chabarovsk. He joined Hutschenreuther in 1922 as a sculptor. Later he emerged to china design and his works bought him world recognition. His passion was sculpture. He was the best in controlling plastic forms in Hutschenreuther and his imagination had no boundaries. His figurines remain the most collectible.
