This is an original press photo. Enjoying his first meal by mouth in three months, 50-year-old Purvis L. Brock bites on a piece of roast chicken for his Thanksgiving Day meal at Charity Hospital as Miss Carol Knittle (left), R.N. his nurse, and Dr. Tinker Haralson, a surgical resident at Louisiana State University Surgical Service at Charity, look on. Brock has a new smaller stomach fashioned from his small intestine which replaces his regular stomach, which had to be moved because of three ulcers.
