1966 Press Photo Gibson Hall, first building of Tulane University Uptown campus
Gibson Hall, pictured at right as the old Arts and Sciences Building when it was completed in 1895, was the first building to go up on the Foucher Tract purchased as a permanent campus site by Tulane University administrators. Price for the property, which includes a frontage of 407.8 feet on St. Charles Avenue, was $37,500. It was bought in 1891 from the estate of Mrs. William Henry. Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches. Photo Is dated 1966.
