Quite the uncommon medicine glass, in the shape of a spoon, and when MILK of MAGNESIA was more of patent medicine, a product advertised to cure several different ailments of the digestive system. Collecting antique dose glasses is a category of collecting in itself. Then within this is the collecting of dose glasses in the shape of a spoon, like this one, and that's when it starts getting good as there are a few of these around and they make up a very unique collection. There are several that were put out by drug stores, pharmacies, then ones like this, that were put out by patent medicine companies. A nice feature of this one is the light purple amethyst color to the glass, sun colored amethyst, and with few exceptions, only glass made before 1914 will take on this purple color.
