A small 3 1/8 inch tall cylinder-shaped deep COBALT BLUE colored antique PATENT (quack) MEDICINE bottle. This is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE mold-blown bottle with a cork top, dating back to early 1900, OVER ONE CENTURY OLD.
- Bottle embossed: "BROMO / CAFFEINE".
- Condition: This bottle is in pristine SPARKLING CLEAN condition. It MAY have traces of content haze or age wear BUT I don't believe you could find a prettier example. NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc. PLEASE see pictures to bet idea of bottles' overall condition/appearance..
- Age: An ORIGINAL ANTIQUE mold-blown (ABM) bottle with a cork-top, ca. early 1900's.

This is one of the many 'headache powders' type bottles that were popular over a century ago. It contained a white powder that, when mixed with water, had an effervescing effect that supposedly CURED headaches. Bromo Seltzer started it and because of their great success, a plethora of other companies jumped on the wagon and started producing very similar products in very similar looking COBALT BLUE bottles. Even today caffeine is associated with 'curing' headaches as the contrary is true, when you try to go off of caffeine, ie. quit drinking coffee or tea, you can often end up with a super intense migraine head ache. Anyway, this is just a BRIGHT SHINY CLEAN little antique 'headache powders' bottle, a beautiful little shelf bottle or one to put in a window because when the sun shines through this little blue bottle, it just comes to life ... check it out!
