Here is a parts bundle for CASSETTE RECORDER / PLAYER as follows:
- Brand: AMERICAN PRINTING HOUSE FOR THE BLIND -- G.E.
- Model no.: 3-5196B
- Color: BEIGE and BLACK
- Year: 1994 -- I bought it BRAND NEW in 1994, and am the only owner.
- INCLUDES INDEX BUTTON, ITS MINI-PCB, WIRING WITH CONNECTOR, AND THE BLACK PLASTIC BUTTON...
- THIS CASSETTE RECORDER / PLAYER CAN WORK AT 1 7/8" speed (standard), and 15/16" speed (usual talking book speed), and is 4-track mono (instead of 2-track stereo). There is a variable speed (pitch) slider to adjust playback speed. Recording speed is the normal speed (15/16" or 1 7/8" depending on the setting), no matter how the variable speed slider is set. Lots of other functions available too...
- THE INDEX BUTTON is used to add a low-pitch tone onto a recording, so it can be heard when FF / REW to be used as indexing book pages, chapters, and other recordings in general.
- HOLD THE BUTTON PRESSED TO GENERATE TONE, AND RELEASE BUTTON TO END...
- THIS CAN CERTAINLY BE USED IN ANY OTHER ELECTRONICS DIY PROJECT AS WELL.
CONDITION AND HISTORY: This button assembly is used, but still excellent condition. It has been carefully removed from the unit I had. The unit stopped working for another problem, not related to that, so this part is still 100% functional...
