Vintage December 1899 issue of St. Nicholas magazine, featuring a Santa Claus cover, numerous Christmas stories, artwork, and ads, and an article on Louis-Maurice Boutet de Monvel. Item measures appr. 7" x 9.5" and is in GOOD TO FAIR CONDITION ONLY; covers and all pages are complete and intact, but front & back covers are damaged, and there is tearing at the spine - covers will likely come loose soon. Other flaws include; paper loss on the front cover; staining and edge tearing on some pages; and the lower staple has become so rusty it no longer holds the pages together (see photo).
