DESCRIPTION
Up for your consideration is a late 18th C. European (likely English) needlework/embroidery on silk with painted details, c. 1780. The piece is large, and a very fine example in excellent condition. The glass in the piece has been replaced with a UV protected plexi-glass to preserve the fine silk and stitch work.
It depicts a classical figure kneeling in front of the base of a tree with carved letters. It is signed "A.V.C." lower left, approximate image size 13" x 10", frame 19 1/2" x 16 3/4".
