From Ramen Sandwich Press' line of apparel honoring the great samurai clans of the epic, turbulent period of Japanese history known as the Sengoku Jidai: a short-sleeved tee featuring the badge (mon) of the Imagawa Clan on the front and a soldier's back-flag (sashimono) on the back. With his death at the Battle of Okehazama in 1561 in hindsight, Imagawa Yoshimoto looks like one of the also-rans of the era. However, before he was ambushed and defeated by the Oda Clan, Yoshimoto was a serious contender to become Shogun, with a long record of military success and a marriage alliance with the powerful Takeda Clan to his credit.

This is a great item for history and Japanese culture fans alike. Over 400 years since Tokugawa Ieyasu established himself as Shogun and brought it to and end, the Sengoku Jidai period continues to fascinate the world over. Its memory endures across the cultural spectrum, from movies and TV, to PC and video games like Shogun: Total War and Nobunaga’s Ambition, to Japan’s lively historical reenactment events. Now you can wear the sashimono that the Imagawa soldiers wore into battle and revive their memory in the present day!
