Untreated and natural star Garnet cabochon originating from India. This weighs 18.05 CTS and has been cut into an round shape. The measurements are approximately 13.7 mm across and 8.4 mm deep.

The stone has a very deep red color with slight undertones of purple. Under some lighting conditions the stone may appear almost black, but under most light sources it's true color is revealed. In the pictures white dots can be seen throughout the surface. These are actually bright sparkles and is more evident in the supplied video.

This gemstone has a well formed star caused by asterism. This phenomenon causes a moving star of light to travel across the surface of the stone when exposed to a light source, either artificial or sunlight.

There is no discernable damage or chips and is in mint condition. There is some natural inclusions and variations as shown in pictures, which is typical among untreated cabochons.
