Stainless Steel Eggbutt with Hooks, MB 06 Mullen with Low Ported Barrel, Level 2-3

The MB 06 mouthpiece provides a useful alternative to the traditional mullen bit.  It does not collapse around the tongue but has a wide low port that allows the tongue to pass under it comfortably. The port is shallow so doesn't put any pressure on the horses palate. It acts mostly on the bars and lips and is therefore suitable for horses who may resent tongue pressure from a single jointed bit or "fiddle" with bits with a link or lozenge.

The Myler design incorporates independent side movement of the cheeks and features a stainless steel mouthpiece with copper inlay to encourage acceptance and salivation.

Please note this bit is NOT Dressage Legal

The addition of the hooks to the cheek add versatility.  Attaching the cheekpieces of the bridle to the top hook holds the bit in the correct position instead of allowing it to slide around the bridle cheeks. Attaching the reins to the rein hooks allows the rider to lift the cheek and use the Independent Side Movement™ of the mouthpiece. Using the hooks does not add leverage but allows the rider to transition from a direct rein action to indirect action without changing the bit. Adding a curb strap (using a Myler curb strap kit) incorporates curb pressure.

The small loop behind the top slot accommodates a curb strap (attach with two curb hooks). Both the top bridle slot and bottom rein slot will fit standard ⅝" bridle leather.
