Description
The MS Sagafjord was a cruise ship that operated in the Atlantic, Pacific and on around-the-world cruises. Launched in 1965, it sailed for various companies, to include Norwegian American, Cunard, Transocean Tours, and Saga. It was taken out of service in 2009 and scrapped in 2011. For a while it sailed under the names MS Gripsholm and MS Saga Rose.
Cunard operated the Sagafjord between 1983-1996.
For auction is a daily activities program for June 16, 1987 from an Alaska cruise. The ship docked at Ketchikan, and passengers were free to disembark and see the city during the morning hours; in the afternoon the ship sailed for Juneau and the Endicott Arm. Daytime activities included bridge, backgammon and bingo; and a singles cocktail party. In the evening, the ballroom featured music and dancing; the lounge presented a classical piano concert; gambling was available in the casino; and two movies were offered.
This program measures appx 10 1/4 x 7 3/4 inches unopened and opens to appx 15 1/2 x 10 1/4 inches. It is printed on medium-weight cardstock. While used, it is in good condition. There are no rips, tears, spills or smears. The original owner marked 5 items (see second and third images), but there is no other writing or markings.
A nice collectible for the cruise ship fan.
