3.8" Rainbow Obsidian polished palm stone from Mexico.  This palm stone is carved from natural Rainbow Obsidian from Mexico, a distinctive type of natural volcanic glass.  Seen with an electron microscope, the layers of color in this material have been found to be rods of pyroxene.  Light waves are scattered or absorbed according to the relative size of the rods in each layer, producing the color of that particular layer.  There are rainbow eyes on both sides of the stone that show rainbow colors in ringed patterns under bright light.  The palm stone is hand polished for a smooth finish around the stone.
