This is an original press photo. London Avenue Canal - Neither wind, nor rain, nor near-freezing temperatures could stay the ceremonies opening the new bridge over the London Avenue Canal at Leon C. Simon dr. today. Cutting the traditional ribbon to open the span is Mayor Victor H. Schiro. The completed new bridge over the London Avenue Canal at Leon C. Simon dr. and subsurface drainage and paving were dedicated by Mayor Victor H. Schiro in ceremonies this morning on top of the span. Shivering in cold rain, a handful of hardy souls witnessed the cutting of the red, white and blue ribbon marking the opening of the $276,000 project. Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches.
