1992 Press Photo Ahmad Abdur-Rahman - dfpb43513
Ahmad Abdur-Rahman was part of a crime that ended in murder, has been in prison 21 years serving a sentence of life-without-parole for "felony murder," and was one of four Detroit Black Panthers who in 1971 raided what they mistakenly thought was a drug abuse preying on the black community. Instead of pleading guilty to robbery and second-degree murder like what his three accomplices did, just 19 at the time, he chose to go to trial, and received the maximum sentence. The man who did the killing was paroled nine years before Abdur-Rahman's more than two decades of prison time. Photo measures 10 x 7 inches. Photo is dated 02/02/1992.
