John Joel and Mark Lynford were jointly responsible for the introduction of Tito Gobbi to this country, and they helped to found the careers of a host of international concert and opera stars. Eileen Joyce, Joan Hammond, Yehudi Menuhin, Louis Kenter, and Kirsten Flagstad were just a few of the many top artistes who came under their banner. The presented everything from a Jazz Jamboree to Grand Opera. This book is a fascinating expose of life behind the scenes. It pulls no punches and is packed with anecdotes which will amuse and entertain not only the regular concert-goer, but everyone who enjoys a human story.
