Classical style creamware originally developed by Wedgwood. It has a slightly green glaze as easily seen in the creases and the impressed marks.
Impressed marks on both pieces "Shorthose & Co," 1817-18. John Shorthose of Staffordshire, England 1794-23.
Rectangle strainer on four paw feet. 10 1/2 inches across the handles by 6 1/2. The stand, or tray is 9 1/8 by 6 1/2 inches. Light weight, both pieces are only 1 pound 11 ounces.
Condition: The tray has a stress crack which is common. It doesn't go to the edge, just in the interior, about 2 1/2 inches long. A small chip on one of the paw feet. A little pitting inside the bowl and pottery flaws. Crazing.
