This high-pressure fuel pump is driven by the camshaft through the cam follower. It builds up pressure in order to supply the correct amount of fuel for the direct injection system. Any leaks or failures of these components can affect the performance of your vehicle such as a check engine light, lack of throttle response, or a rough idle.
