Top grade natural moonstone gemstone originating from India. This weighs 9.00 CTS and has been cut and faceted into a pear shape. The measurements are approximately 14.3 x 13.8 x 8.7 mm.

The stone has an amazing amount of translucency, and could almost be called fully transparent. This clearness gives the piece an attractive crystalline appearance.

The optical effects of the gem are quite impressive, with a glowing aspect and a bright blue flash that covers the entire surface. These flashes are caused by an optical property called "aldurescence" . Some hints of gold coloring can also be seen.

This is not your standard moonstone that has been simply polished to a cabochon. This has been professionally cut and faceted to allow more light to pass through the gemstone, and enhances the visual effects. There is no discernable damage or chips but does have slight natural inclusions which are typical of moonstone.
