1951 Press Photo Floral Print Decor in 1890s Home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

This is an original press photo. Fabric with large, brightly colored flowers was used to decorate bedrooms in many homes during the 1890s. Canopies over beds were also very popular in addition to scarves draped over dressing tables. Some magazines of the period advertised homeowners to use "light" bedroom hues and delicate furniture.
