Note: Please study the images carefully to determine the condition of this vintage photograph, as it may not be in perfect condition. It may contain wrinkles, cracks, and possibly even tears due to its age and how it was handled before it got to us. A scanner may interpret colors and contrast differently than human eyes will, so it is possible that the actual photograph may be slightly darker or lighter in person.

1972 Press Photo Jim Jackson with Large Ape's Boneca and Grandiza at Zoo

This is an original press photo. Is there no room for baby gorillas Boneca, left, and Grandiza? They play with Jim Jackson, supervisor of the Large Ape Building at the Delta Regional Primate Center of Tulane University in Covington, where they are being housed. However, the center needs the housing space and the apes' owner, Audubon Park Zoo, doesn't have room either. Other zoos are being asked to accept the little pair temporarily.Photo measures 8 x 10.25inches. Photo is dated 02-28-1972.
