A collection of essays written under the pseudonym of Christopher North.

Some of the works included are titles such as: A Tale of Expiation, Morning Monologue, The Field of Flowers, An Hour's Talk About Poetry, A Day at Windermere, and more.

Written by John Wilson, a Scottish advocate, literary critic and author who was professor of Moral Philosophy at the University of Edinburgh until 1851. Wilson was a good friend of literary figures William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Robert Southey and Thomas de Quincey.

CONDITION

In the original half crushed morocco with marbled boards. Externally, sound with rubbing and light bumping to the extremities resulting in minor loss. Fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Cracks to the joints with the front board of volume I held by cords. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot or handling mark. Light age toning to the first and last few pages. Bound by J. MacDonald, N.Y.
