An excellent single volume edition of Milton's epic, focusing on the disobedience of Adam and Eve in Eden, and depicting Satan's expulsion from heaven.

In a full calf binding.

Illustrated with a portrait frontispiece and an engraved title page, and with one further plate, and an illustrated vignette to the final leaf. Collated, complete.


CONDITION

In a full calf binding. Rubbing to back strip head and tail, joints, and board perimeters. Small closed tear to the leather at back strip head. Front hinge strained, but firmly held. Internally, firmly bound, but with one leaf - page 193-194 - detached and loosely inserted. Significant closed tear to this leaf. Pages bright and generally clean, with the odd light handling mark.
