This signed first edition, first impression, of acclaimed novelist and non-fiction writer Linda Grant's novel 'The Clothes On Their Backs' which was shortlisted for the Booker Prize and the Orange Prize and won The South Bank Show award in 2008. The novel set in 1970s London and follows a young girl of refugee parents who are violently unwelcoming towards a glamourous uncle that reappears in their lives, exploring how everyone chooses more than just clothes to wear.

First edition, first impression with no other impressions stated, with unclipped dustwrapper. Presentation copy signed by the author to the title page with the following inscription: 'This morning for the first time in many years, I passed the shop on Seymour Street', the first line of the book, dated December 14 2008.
