Translated into English using the Paris edition of the work.
Rene-Aubert Vertot was a French historian. He wrote this work at the suggestion of Fontenelle and the Abbe de Saint-Pierre.
CONDITION
In a full calf binding. Externally, worn. All hinges and joints have failed with the boards detached. Lacking front board, rear board is detached but present. Rear endpapers are also detached. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. Spots to the first and last few pages and the odd spots throughout.
