First edition in the publisher's original cloth binding.

Written by Christopher Hare, this work explores the life of Maximilian I, who was Holy Roman Emperor between 1459 and 1519. As mentioned in the title, Maximilian is often referred to as The Dreamer.

This work covers many aspects of Maximilian's life, including his marriage, the invasion of Italy in 1494 and the reformation in Germany.

With six full-page illustrations and a frontispiece. Collated, complete.

With a bookplate of M. W. Malcolm Wood, dated 1919, to the front paste down.


CONDITION

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, with slight bumping to the extremities and to the spine. Light rubbing to the joints and a touch of fading to the spine. The odd mark to boards. Bookplate to the front paste down. The occasional mark to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean throughout.
