Natural 6-ray star Garnet cabochon originating from India. This weighs 28.65 CTS and has been cut into an oval shape. The measurements are approximately 18.6 x 15.3 x 9.3 mm.

The stone has a beautifully formed 6 ray star caused by asterism. This phenomenon causes a moving star of light to travel across the surface of the stone when exposed to a light source, either artificial or sunlight. This would make a great statement ring, pendant, or large piece of jewelry.

The stone has a very deep red color with slight undertones of purple. Under some lighting conditions the stone may appear almost black, but under most light sources it's true color is revealed. In the pictures white dots can be seen throughout the surface. These are actually bright sparkles and is more evident in the supplied video.

The overall condition is extremely good, with no notable marks on the main face of the gem. There is some slight variations on the bottom of the item as shown in pictures.
