Flashy natural Tanzanite cabochon originating from Tanzania. This weighs 7.40 CTS and has been cut into an oval shape. The measurements are approximately 12.3 x 9.5 x 7.3 mm.

The stone has a fabulous deep blue coloring with undertones of purple. This is a trichroic stone, meaning it has a double refraction of light, and shows two or three different colors depending on the viewing angle.

This piece also exhibits phenomenal visual effects, including an electric-looking flash within the surface, as well as rainbow inclusions that glitter and flash throughout. Other more common but beautiful optical effects are also seen such as a very good sparkle and shimmer. Some hints of violet flashes of light are also seen within the surface, and is also considered a desirable and rare feature for a Tanzanite.

The gem has a great translucency, to the point of being almost completely transparent. There is no discernable damage or chips and is in excellent condition. This would make a stunning ring or pendant, but could also be used with a combination of stones to form other types of jewelry.
