Hill was a dramatist active during the first half of the eighteenth century. A perfectionist in his writings, Hill also founded the bi-weekly periodical 'The Plain Dealer'.

His best known works include 'Elfrid', 'The Walking Statue', 'The Fatal Vision', 'Athelwold', 'Zara', and 'Fatal Extravagance'.

CONDITION

In a full calf binding. Externally, generally smart. Joints are cracked, leather to the front joint is lifting. Some discolouration and marking to the boards and spine. A little loss to the head and tail of the spine, leather to the head of the spine is lifting a little. Minor bumping to the extremities. Rubbing to the spine. Lacking the spine label. Front hinge is strained but remains firm, rear hinge is starting but firm. Bookplate to the front paste down. Front endpaper is detaching. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very lightly age-toned with some scattered spots.
