Iconic & Vintage Bromwell 5 Cup Sifter with brown wooden knob will look great in any vintage kitchen setting, OR, make use of this patented sifter, because it is fully functional! The 2 sides of the sifter have embossed into the metal: TWO CUPS, THREE CUPS, FOUR CUPS, FIVE CUPS. The front of the sifter, opposite of the metal handle side, has the following embossed into the metal: MADE IN USA, BROMWELL'S, MEASURING-SIFTER. The brown wooden knob is faded and worn, but quite functional. The metal does have areas of rust, but Bromwell's website says that rust does not prevent the use of older sifters. The fine mesh basket in the base of the sifter is in very good and sound condition. The sifter arms rotate freely, with a bit of squeaking, but none-the-less are quite functional. Jacob Bromwell had the first patent on his sifter in 1835, and the history of Bromwell products has spanned over 200 years. Whether you want this for show or for use, this is an American treasure for any kitchen! The exact year this was manufactured is unknown, but we estimate it dates between 1960-1990s.
