В книгу вошли избранные эссе Иосифа Бродского, написанные в эмиграции в 1980–1990-е годы. Большинство эссе были напечатаны в авторских сборниках «Less Than One» («Меньше единицы», 1986) и «On Grief and Reason» («О скорби и разуме», 1995) и публикуются в переводе на русский язык. К ним добавлены редко издаваемые «Размышления об исчадии ада» и «Писатель в тюрьме». Это тексты об истории и свободе, о природе власти и отношении к ней. Бродский рассуждает как о сути творчества вне зависимости от государственного строя, так и о влиянии внешних обстоятельств на человека пишущего.
Delivery takes place in two stages. Orders are first shipped in a consolidated shipment from Russia to the United States. During this stage, individual tracking is not available.
Once the shipment arrives in the U.S.:

• For international orders, your package will be forwarded to the eBay International Shipping hub for further delivery. Estimated delivery time: 4–7 weeks.
You will receive a tracking number once your order is dispatched.
Returns are accepted within 30-Days return policy.
