In the publisher's original cloth binding. 

Complete with a monochrome frontispiece, nine monochrome plates and numerous illustrations throughout. Collated complete.

Eugène Emmanuel Viollet-le-Duc restored some of the most prominent medieval landmarks in France, including Notre-Dame de Paris, Mont Saint-Michel, Sainte-Chapelle and the medieval walls of Carcassonne.

This 'Architectural Novelette' frames his step-by-step instructions for building a house using conversations between the characters, and was written and illustrated by Viollet-le-Duc in two months.


CONDITION

In the original cloth binding. Externally, smart with rubbing and bumping to the extremities. A few marks to the boards. Internally, loosening in places but firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the odd spot. Ink inscription to verso of frontispiece.
