Transformer has 1 metre cable tails and a 3-pin plug for 100/240 volts mains supply and has a 5 or 9 volt output on the cleaning side so is completely safe to use.

Cleaning by electrolysis is simply the reverse of electro-plating. By changing the leads over the polarity is reversed and the process removes the "crud" instead of adding metal. It is a safe and recommended cleaning process for all metals including gold, silver and broze.
