TOUGH” is a Japanese manga by Tetsuya Saruwatari. It is a sequel to the previous work “High School Tekkenden Tough” and was serialized in “Weekly Young Jump” (published by Shueisha) from issue 35, 2003 to issue 34, 2012 (July 19, 2012). The series was published up to volume 39. As of February 2015, the total number of copies of the series, including the previous “High School Tekkenden Tough” and this one, has sold more than 10 million copies.

Synopsis.

The main character Miyazawa Kiichi, now 19 years old, joins forces with Shindo Rikimaru, a yakuza of the Shindo clan, for the revival of his father Shizutora, who is critically injured in a fight with Oniryu, and for his own devotion. With Shizutora's recovery, he shifts the arena of battle from the dark world to the front world of “Hyper Battle,” and aims for the top of the world. The secret of Shizuka's birth, which is later revealed, and the conflict with the Yugen Shinkage Ryu are also depicted in the story.
