Omnichord is Suzuki's original electronic musical instrument released in 1981, featuring the autoharp. It gained popularity especially in Europe and the United States as a new instrument that anyone could enjoy anywhere. Sales of the series ended with the OM-300, released in 1996, but its popularity continued to grow, and it was reissued in 2024 as the OM-108.
Lightly playable. Can be played deep. ★Simple playing.
■Simple playing allows immediate accompaniment.
Omnichord is an electronic musical instrument with an automatic accompaniment function (auto bass chord) equipped with a harp sensor (strum plate). Simply slide your finger on the strum plate while pressing the chord button, and you can play accompaniment to a song the same day you pick it up.
■You can play anywhere, anytime.
Although it has a built-in speaker, it is small, lightweight, and battery-powered*, making it easy to carry and play anywhere. Also, since external amplifiers and headphones can be connected, you can play in a studio, live music club, or even practice in your own room at any time to optimize your performance to suit the environment.
The unit is powered by eight AA dry cell batteries or a dedicated AC adapter (both sold separately).
■For both inexperienced musicians and professional musicians.
The OM-108 does not have a display, which many electronic musical instruments have, but instead plays the sound as it is set by the buttons and knobs. For inexperienced musicians, the interface is intuitive and easy to understand, and for professional musicians, it allows them to play in real time while creating sounds on the panel. It can be used like a keyboard or rhythm machine, and the MIDI OUT can be used to expand the sound. The appeal of Omnichord is that it can be used casually, maniacally, and in ways that suit the player.
1 KEYBOARD
When this button is turned on, melodies and percussion sounds can be played with the chord buttons. At the same time, a new function has been added that allows percussion sounds to be assigned to the strum plate as well!
2 VOICE
Ten types of strum-plate voices are included. The “omni1” and “omni2” voices are reproduced from the 2nd model OM-84 using analog circuitry, just as they were at the time. In addition, the “FM piano,” an electric piano that dominated the 80s, is newly included, along with carefully selected “celeste” and “harp” tones from previous models. These 10 tones are nostalgic for fans of yesteryear, but also have a strong appeal in today's music scene.

3 RHYTHM
The OM-108 is equipped with 10 different rhythm patterns for a wide variety of songs, including the first “hip hop” trap beat on the OM-108. Even though the rhythms have the same names as past models, they have been updated to incorporate more current rhythm patterns.

4 CHORD
108 chords (12 roots x 9 types) can be played by simply pressing 1 to 3 chord buttons. In addition to the existing 7 chord types such as “major” and “diminish,” the OM-108 adds the “sus4” and “add9th” chords that are often used in popular music.
5 Main & Sub Voice Volume
Each of the 10 strum plate tones can be layered with two tones (Main and Sub), which can be controlled with the knob. For example, when “harp” is selected, Mai
