1956 Press Photo Danish Soldier of United Nations Police Force Takes Break

This is an original press photo. Taking time out for a welcome coffee break, a Danish soldier of the United Nations Police Force pours steaming hot coffee for his comrade as they prepare to board a plane with 43 other compatriots to be flown to Egypt. Wearing blue helmets the symbolic color of the international body, the police will be stationed in the troubled Suez Canal Zone. Eight nations-Canada, Colombia, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, India & Pakistan-contribute members for the police force. Photo measures 7 x 9.25 inches. Photo is dated 11-19-1956.
