Offered here is one NOS example of the highly sought-after maker of the Spec 7823; Cagleco Sportswear.

This contract, N383S-9211A, was the first awarded to Cagleco Sportswear in fiscal year 1954. This company had 6 contracts for the G-1 from 1954 to 1957 before they changed their name to the renowned Ralph Edwards Sportswear.

Finding a jacket in this condition after 70 years is unbelievable. I own 3 examples of this contract and they are in excellent condition, but this one is impossible to upgrade.

The goatskin leather is mint. All parts are genuine to the jacket. The collar is immaculate, and note the use of black mouton instead of the more common brown one; it is a characteristic only seen in this contract. Knits are flawless, which is rare even for unissued examples. The blackened Conmar zipper is intact. The silver "USN" stencil under the collar is gleaming.

Needless to say, finding an example in New Old Stock condition is extremely rare. This is the real deal if you are looking for a genuine G-1 that will last you another 70+ years.
