Hafez (1320-1389) is best known as a Sufi mystic who incorporated elements of Sufism into his verses. The state of God-Realisation is symbolised through union with a Beloved, and drinking the wine of spiritual love. There is much mythology but little factual information available about his life; he is known to have been a great admirer of his predecessor and fellow Shirazi, Sa'di, as well as Attar, Rumi and Nizami.
This vintage art print was designed by master calligrapher Esrafil Shirchi and is inspired by a Hafez verse. It is from a collection called "Golbang-e Hafez," which was issued as a limited edition series. It has been out of print for years and is now very rare.
It is printed on fine quality stock and is suitable for framing. The artist's signature is visible, just as it appears on the original painting.
Approximate Dimensions: 34 x 24 cm (13.25" x 9.5"), including a border with the original Persian verse. It will be shipped rolled.
