This is an original press photo. Ships-Submarines-Russia ---- A new type of Soviet submarines has recently been sighted in international waters off the coast of Norway, and a Royal Norwegian Air Force "Orion" plane succeeded in taking a series of photos of the sub. The submarine is equipped with 16 intercontinental ballistic missiles, with a reach of some 7000 kilometers and able to hit any target in the continental United States or other NATO countries. The photographs were released in Oslo by the Norwegian Defense Command. Soviet Union's Delta Class submarine is capable of carrying 16 intercontinental ballistic missiles. Photo measures 11 x 8inches. Photo is dated 09-17-1973.
