This is another wonderful addition by James Norman Hall. A first edition hardcover volume of "Lost Island" printed in 1944 by Little, Brown and Company in Boston, Massachusetts. This story takes place during WWII (1939-45) on a tiny Polynesian Island that is set to become a military base for American bombers. This story is told through the eyes of an engineer sent to evaluate the island and is loosely based on the story of Bora Bora. This book shows some signs of wear and includes an insert from a later publication. There is a significant amount of discoloration on the spine and some cosmetic wear to the cover. The pages within are clean. See photos for more details. This is a quick read and a great addition to any library that features military novels and WWII fiction.
