This set features novels by Irish novelist and travel writer Gerald Hanley. Though he often wrote fictional novels, his works often reflected his love of travel, being set in a variety of countries. This set includes;
'Without Love', a novel about Michael Brennan, a member of the Russian S.S. and the French Communist Resistance who is ordered to kill a renegade to the organisation he is currently serving,
'The Homeward Journey', a novel set in a small mountain state following a man who returns from his time in England to rule and change his home for the better,
'See you in Yasukuni', a story about three men whose lives weave together while at war in Malaya and Burma.
CONDITION
In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrappers to all but 'Homeward' which is clipped. Externally excellent with slight fading to the head of the front board and spine and the odd very minor spot to the front endpapers to 'Yasukuni', very minimal offsetting to the endpapers to 'Without Love' and 'Homeward' with bumping to the tail of the front board to 'Homeward'. The wraps are very smart with sunning to the spines to all but 'Without Love', marks, predominantly to the rears, a small closed tear to the front flyleaf to 'Without Love' and slight creasing. Professional archival tape repairs to the verso of 'Yasukuni' with tidemarks to the extremities of the tail, and offsetting to 'Homeward'. Internally firmly bound with clean and bright pages.
