“A Christmas Tale”
is the title of the Bing & Grondahl (B&G) 1978 Christmas Plate. It features a mother (grandmother?) reading a story to a young boy and girl, with a Christmas tree in the background. The Christmas star (found on almost all B&G Christmas plates) is visible through the window.
The scene is embossed on Danish porcelain and handpainted in traditional Copenhagen blue under the glaze. Diameter approximately 7 1/8 inches (18cm), Pierced foot for hanging wire. Appropriately marked on the back, including the three tower trademark of Bing & Grondahl. Artwork by Henry Thelander. Issue Price in 1978 was $32.00.
