First published in 1753, in 'The History of Sir Charles Grandison', Samuel Richardson tells the story of the exemplary Sir Charles Grandison, a wealthy and virtuous man who navigates the challenges of love and marriage with integrity and honour.

The book was viewed as a response to Henry Fielding's 'The History of Tom Jones'.

A lovely copy of one of English writer and printer Samuel Richardson's major works. He was also known for the works 'Clarissa' and 'Pamela'.


CONDITION

Rebacked, in full calf bindings with original boards restored. Retaining original endpapers. Externally, excellent. Internally, firmly bound. Pages lightly age toned, but generally clean and bright, with some heavier spotting to the first and last few leaves of volumes I and II.
