Description
The Gulf & Chicago Railway Company (G&C) was a short line in northeastern Mississippi and southeastern Tennessee. Formed in 1889 from two other railroads, it was merged in 1903 to form the New Orleans, Chicago & Mobile Railroad and in 1909 to create the Gulf, Mobile & Northern Railroad. Surviving trackage is now part of the Illinois Central Railroad.
