An Antique Original 19th century Chinese Mandarin embroidered silk badge of civil rank paradise flycatcher converted into a draw cord string bag, double sided decorated with egret and cloud-motifs, opening at top with drawn cord embossed with tassels on both sides of top opening. Tassels are wrapped in gold threads. Crewelwork embroidery with a white egret or flycatcher with colored threads background and lined with a light brown silk satin lining.
This embroidered badge was once sewn onto the surcoat of an official in Imperial China. It is embroidered with detailed, egret bird insignia indicating the rank of the official wearing it.
CONDITION
The condition is very good condition for its age, but has one minor age issues such as some loose silk threads only on one side in bottom waves, as seen in photos. No holes, repairs or stains.

The size of the bag is 10 inches in length x 9-1/2 inches in width.
