Business and Slavery. 1968 1st Edition. In this rare historical book on the years preceding the Civil War. Late author Philip S.Foner eloquently presents the Primary Source History of the economic disputes which occurred behind the scenes between the Union North and the Confederate South. He reveals how the Slave Produced “Cotton Kingdom”, of the Jewish owned Plantation in the South had cut out the Union North from the exponential monetary gain which made these Southern Masters exceedingly powerful and wealthy! Also how they kept there wealth in Jewish Owned Banks in the North which they were distant relatives of: and how this financial item of contention became the main dispute the Union North had with the Confederate South, which ultimately led to the Civil War!
He also tackles the mainstream notion which has been promulgated that President Lincoln freed the Black Slaves out of a moral concern for justice. Using primary and contemporary sources Foner revealed that the true motivation of the Emancipation Proclamation, was not to free the Black Slaves but rather solely to help save the Union North from being utterly defeated by the Confederacy. Also by subsequently defeating the South with the help of Negro Slaves, to inherit there immense wealth from the Slave Produced “Cotton Kingdom”.
