Coco Coir 650g Brick — 100% Natural, Expands to 10L

Made with high quality coconut coir these bricks have been washed for a lower salt concentration and buffered to a neutral pH, unlike other bricks on the market ours do not have any peat or trichoderma added. Just one brick will expand to approx. 10L of loose coir once water has been added, with massive water retention and strong contamination resistance it is a prime substrate for many home and commercial mushroom cultivators.

Coir is very versatile and can be sterilised in a pressure cooker/autoclave or pasteurised by adding boiling water and sealing in a bucket, this can then be used with vermiculite and gypsum to produce a bulk mushroom substrate, get bigger flushes and fruits by picking the right choice of coir.
